What a wonderful reference and profile for your work Stella and thank you Emily for your hard work. It brings tears to my eyes to be able to see this and have this perspective on the last few years. Stella has absorbed the past story of S39 and made herself central to what comes next, she has visited many of the places where we have worked and built a relationship with many if not most of the most active of the trainees. Where next? Well we are planning aregional PDC in teso district in Uganda next year, so watch this space.
Steve, Stella. You both have transformed the landscape and mindscape in so many ways. It's really incredible to witness the ripple effect. And I get that you're only just uncovering these ripples or the depth of them. I hope the funders of the permie world prioritize research and evaluation... Here in the US, in the community development finance world of which I am a part, it can be very difficult to get funders to provide funding for it. We are often left to just count heads and things (outputs) and rarely get to outcomes. I'm super interested in the Ugandan credit union Steve! You can count me in as a source of seed capital. And dammit, one of these years I will pack myself in someone's suitcase and join you for a PDC!
It's been difficult for S39 to do the feedback sessions as well but yes we had to make priorities while doing this and cut most of the costs . Steve has been knocking his head a lot on this issue but here we are now.
Am so grateful that you are really appreciating our work and also happy to join us.
Steve make sure the bag doesn't have a lot while coming to Africa so that you bring more 3-4 of Emily's.
Am proud of this Emily and Steve Jones
